Zahari Ivanov Zahariev
Zahari Ivanov Zahariev was born on 2 August 1951 in the city of Sofia.
In 1976, having completed a 4 years regular course, he graduated in “Managing of Public Order” at the Second Faculty of the Academy of the Ministry of Interior.
During 1998-2001,following a part-time course, he graduated in Law at the South-West University in the city of Blagoevgrad.
He started his career in 1976 as an operative officer against criminals in Sofia at the First Regional Police Department of the Ministry of Interior, where he grew up “step by step”.
From 1982 he was appointed as Head of the Operative on Duty Unit in the Tenth Regional Police Department and from 1986 he is the Chief on Duty Officer in the system of the Ministry of Interior in Sofia.
In 1995 he took the position as Deputy Head of operative activity at the First Regional Police Department in Sofia Directorate of Interior. In 1997 he held the managing position of the Head of the First Regional Police Department and he kept it until 2006.
By the Decree N 6 from 23 January 2006 of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria he was assigned as a member of the Commission for Determination of Property, Obtained by Criminal Actions, some months later he became a Director of one of the Directorates in the same commission.
During the period 1991-2001 he finished five courses at the Academy of Ministry of Interior, as well as the Police Academies in Belgium and France.
During his career in the system of the Ministry of Interior he gained many awards like Diplomas, special award “The most respectful officer in the Ministry of Interior”, and personal weapon for his entire career awarded him by the Minister.
By the Resolution N 690 of the Council of Ministers from 25 October 2007 he took his new position as a Deputy Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security.
