Signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo on exchange and mutual protection of classified information
On 13 September 2012 in the building of the State Commission on Information Security an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo on exchange and mutual protection of classified information.
On Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Mrs. Tsveta Markova – Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security and on the side of the Republic of Kosovo by the Minister of Interior Mr. Bajram Rexhepi.
The Agreement is a result of negotiations between the Parties which were held in June in the Training center of SCIS in the town of Bankya and is a good basis for the establishment of legal framework for the cooperation in the field of the exchange and mutual protection of classified information in all fields of social life.
The current agreement will contribute for the development of the bilateral economic relations by giving the possibility fro participation of companies of Kosovo in public procurements held by Bulgarian ministries and departments as well as of Bulgarian companies in the Republic of Kosovo.
In the agreement are defined the main concepts in the field of protection of classified information, the respective levels of the security classification levels of the information, the competent security authorities of the Parties, the security classification measures and the rules for the actions in case of breach of security, the ways for exchange and use of classified information. Provisions are included regulating classified contracts and procedures for international visits.
