Working meeting of the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Macedonia to the Republic of Bulgaria His Excellence Mr. Aleksandar Vasilevski
On 16 January 2010 in Sofia, the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova had a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Macedonia to the Republic of Bulgaria His Excellence Mr. Aleksandar Vasilevski.
The meeting was carried out by initiative of Mrs. Markova with reference to the recent assumption of office of the Ambassador and is a continuation of the excellent cooperation between both parties.
During the meeting Mrs. Markova introduced the Ambassador with the role and functions of the SCIS as a state authority which carries out the policy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of classified information protection.
On his behalf His Excellence Mr. Vasilevski stressed that he is very familiar with the activity and the importance of the authorities with powers similar to those of the SCIS. He explicitly mentioned the specific character of the activities on classified information protection as it requires high professionalism and absence of political binding. He made a statement that this is a highly responsible state position that has to be stable and above all parties. He shared his experience from his work with NATO and EU authorities and mentioned that the Euro-Atlantic structures highly appreciate the professionalism in the field of classified information protection as a guarantee for maintaining high standard in the protection of information.
Ambassador Vasilevski gave high assessment to SCIS activities, referring also to the international prestige, established by the Commission among NATO and EU partners, as well as in bilateral relations.
During the discussion an interest was expressed by both parties for conducting of a meeting between the SCIS and the National Security Authority of the Republic of Macedonia and on behalf of Mrs. Markova was made a proposal this meeting to be carried out in Sofia with the State Commission on Information Security as host.
The meeting took place at the building of the SCIS and was conducted in a working atmosphere.
