Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Bulgaria H. E. Mr. Aleksandar Crkvenjakov

On 27 April 2011 in Sofia the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Bulgaria H. E. Mr. Aleksandar Crkvenjakov.

The reason for the meeting was the discussion of the possibilities for accelerating the procedure on the signing of Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria on the protection and exchange of classified information.

The two countries have already signed such an Agreement in the field of defence but the willingness of both sides is a general Agreement on the protection and exchange of classified information, which includes the civil sphere, to be signed.

Mrs. Markova clarified that this way the bilateral relations in all fields, including the field of police cooperation, will be extended.

On his behalf His Excellence Mr. Crkvenjakov confirmed the willingness of the Serbian side for signing of such an Agreement and expressed his readiness for assistance so that the signing could be carried out as soon as possible.

He thanked Mrs. Markova for providing current information to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Bulgaria on the development of the procedure on the signing of the Agreement.

Both parties confirmed their readiness for cooperation.

The meeting was conducted at the premises of the SCIS and was carried out in working environment.
