Special Courier Service Directorate

  • Receives, sorts out, makes lists of, stores, transmits and delivers correspondence ad materials containing classified information in accordance with the Classified Information Protection Act and the Regulation on its implementation;
  • Ensures the protection of the classified information from unauthorised access during its receipt, sorting out, listing, storing, transmission and delivery;
  • Performs analysis and evaluation of the risk factors and undertakes the necessary measures for the protection of the classified information from unauthorised access;
  • Accounts the traffic of materials containing classified information;
  • Participates in the training on handling classified information;
  • In case of disasters and emergency situations as well as in case of “war situation” regime fulfils its activity by ensuring military post liaison under terms and conditions set by the Minister of transport, information technologies and communications, by the Minister of Defence and the Chairperson of SCIS;
  • Is responsible for respecting the terms of carrying guns under the provisions of  the Ministry of Interior Act;
  • Participate in drafting Annual report on the overall activity on the status of the protection of the classified information

 

The Special Courier Service Directorate is comprised of 155 employees including those in the territorial units and is headed by Mr. Vladimir Monev.
