Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom H. E. Mr. Jonathan Allen
Posted on 09 Jul 2012 00:23:57On 4 July 2012 in Sofia Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom H. E. Mr. Jonathan Allen.
Mrs. Markova presented the activities as of SCIS as National security authority of the Republic of Bulgaria in compliance with European Union and NATO requirements.
The negotiated Agreement on mutual protection of classified information between the Republic of Bulgaria and the United Kingdom was discussed as well as the possibility for its signing in September this year with the forthcoming international conference organized by SCIS on the occasion of its 10th Anniversary.
On behalf Ambassador Allen expressed his satisfaction by the successful development of the negotiations and the forthcoming signing.
Mrs. Markova paid attention on the importance of the bilateral agreements on mutual protection and exchange of classified information as they set the legal framework in different fields of public life that require exchange of classified information.
Further during the meeting Mrs. Markova introduced the ambassador to the activities of the Training center of SCIS in the town of Bankya and the possibility for inviting lectors from the United Kingdom on different subjects of present interest as for example cyber security and cyber attacks.
His Excellence confirmed his readiness for cooperation and his confidence in the beneficial interaction between the Embassy of the United Kingdom and the State Commission on Information Security.
The meeting took place in the building of SCIS and was carried out in working environment.
