The State Commission on Information Security presented its report concerning the status of the classified information protection in the Republic of Bulgaria for 2008

On 18 March 2009, at 11 o’clock at the Central Military Club, the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova presented the basic moments of the report concerning the status of the classified information protection in the Republic of Bulgaria for 2008 in front of representatives of the central authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria, of the security and the public order services.

The report is prepared in compliance with art. 7 of the Classified Information Protection Act (CIPA), and in cooperation with the security and the public order services.

The main purpose of the report is to show the current status of the system for the protection of classified information, to analyze the completed activities and to outline the main directions of the activities in 2009.

The main accents of the Annual report are:

- analysis of the risks and threats for the status of the National system for the protection of classified information;
- current status of the National system for the protection of classified information- activities of the SCIS as National Security Authority and of the security and the public order services, as well as of the other organizational units, on the implementation of the CIPA;
- international activities in the field of classified information protection- international legal regulatory framework, cooperation of the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of security with NATO and EU;
- training in the field of classified information protection;
- main directions in the activities of the SCIS, the security and the public order services and the other subjects of the National system for the protection of classified information in 2009.
