Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Sergey Manasaryan

On 26 February 2010 in Sofia the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova carried out a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Sergey Manasaryan.

During the meeting Mrs. Markova introduced the Ambassador with the role and functions of the SCIS as a state authority which implements the classified information protection policy of the Republic of Bulgaria and as National security authority in international aspect. She expressed the will of the Bulgarian side for the beginning of the preparation of Draft Agreement on exchange and mutual protection of classified information submitted by the Republic of Bulgaria via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On his behalf Mr. Manasaryan expresses his satisfaction of the close relations between both states. He emphasized that for Armenia Bulgaria is a very important partner not only as a historically related friendly state but already as a NATO and EU member state. In this aspect the experience acquired is of great benefit for Armenia.

The Ambassador Manasaryan took on the engagement to undertake all the necessary actions for hastening the procedures on the preparation of the Draft Agreement.

Both sides gave high assessment to the signing of Agreement on exchange and mutual protection of classified information which will give possibilities for deepening and hastening of the relations of the two states in all the fields that require exchange of such information.

The meeting was carried out at the building of the SCIS and was conducted in a working atmosphere.
