Signing of Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on mutual protection and exchange of classified information

Today, 14 November 2011 in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on mutual protection and exchange of classified information was signed. The signing ceremony was held in the frames of the official visit of the President of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Azerbaijan. On Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Mrs. Tsveta Markova – Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security and on Azerbaijani side – by lieutenant-general Eldar Mahmudov – Minister of National Security.

The Agreement is a result of consultations with representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan which were held in October 2010 in Sofia. It regulates the protection of classified information which will be exchanged between the countries in different fields of public life.
