International Conference “International cooperation in the field of classified information protection as part of the regional security on the Balkans”

Between 27-30 September 2006, in Euxinograde Residence, in Varna, the first Balkan conference “International cooperation in the field of classified information protection as part of the regional security on the Balkans” took place.

Heads and representatives of the national security authorities of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey and Montenegro participated.

The event was organized by the State Commission on Information Security in its capacity of national security authority of the Republic of Bulgaria and under the patronage of the Minister of education and science Mr. Daniel Valchev. 

Questions of common interest, regarding the NSAs and the types of security were in the center of the discussions. Expressing their appreciation, the participated countries also considered the idea the Balkan conference to turn into a regular host-rotation event.
