Conclusion of the 23rd Annual MISWG Meeting

In the period 3-5 September 2008 in Sofia at the Radisson SAS Hotel the 23rd annual meeting of the Multinational Industrial Security Working Group was held, hosted this year by the State Commission on Information Security- Bulgarian National Security Authority.

Representatives of 26 NATO and EU member states, as well as of Switzerland, participated in the MISWG meeting.

The meeting was opened by the Chairperson of the SCIS Mrs. Tsveta Markova. The participants were welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria and Minister of Education and Science Mr. Daniel Valtchev.
In this year’s session of the working group on behalf of NATO and EU participated respectively Mr. Rolf Ultes and Mr. Michel De Wolf who made presentations on current issues of industrial security in the frames of the two international organizations.
Presentations were made also by representatives of Switzerland- Perspectives of European Industrial Security, Hungary-Industrial Security Vetting in Hungary and Italy- New Network Threats.

In the frames of the meeting an exhibition of Bulgarian companies of the Defence Industry complex and of the field of security was presented.

Canada will be the host of the 2009 MISWG meeting.
