Signing of Agreement on amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of Georgia on exchange and mutual protection of classified information

On 1 April 2012 in the capital of Georgia Tbilisi, a ceremony on the signing of Agreement on amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of Georgia on exchange and mutual protection of classified information was held. On Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Mrs. Tsveta Markova – Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security /SCIS/. On Georgian side the Agreement was signed by Mrs. Eka Zguladze – First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.

The Agreement amends and supplements the one that was signed between the Parties in 2007. It regulates the protection of classified information exchanged with regard to the strategic cooperation between the Parties. Georgia has been fulfilling its engagements to NATO as NATO Member State. At the moment Georgia is the non-NATO member which participates in all NATO activities.

The signing ceremony was in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Boyko Borisov.
