Signing of Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of Hungary on exchange and mutual protection of classified information

On 5th July 2017 in Sofia an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of Hungary on exchange and mutual protection of classified information was signed by the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Agreement is a result of consultations with representatives of the Hungarian side. The texts of the Agreement cover the consent of the two Parties that was reached by taking into account the differences between the legislations and the systems for protection of classified information in the Republic of Bulgaria and Hungary. The Agreement sets the legal framework of the cooperation with regard to the protection of the classified information in all fields of public life. The Agreement is signed for indefinite period of time.

The completion of the national legal procedures entering into force of the Agreement is pending.
