Study visit of representatives of the National Security Authority of the Republic of Macedonia for sharing experience in the field of the exchange and mutual protection of classified information

In the period 23rd – 25th October 2017 in Sofia study visit for sharing experience in the field of the exchange and mutual protection of classified information between the State Commission on Information Security (SCIS) and the National Security Authority of the Republic of Macedonia within the TAIEX program of the European Commission was held.

SCIS is the host of the study visit which has for purpose to introduce the representatives of the National Security Authority of the Republic of Macedonia to the established good practices and the legal framework in Bulgarian and European legislation in the field of the protection of EU classified information.

Within the study visit the participants presented the structure and functions of the two authorities.

Topics with regard to the current legal framework in the field of the protection of EU classified information, the rights and obligations of EU Member States, the physical and documentary security of national classified information and EU classified information, the vetting procedure for reliability for issuing national security clearances and EU security clearance certificates and many others were presented.

SCIS highly appreciates such study visits. They are very helpful for the countries which are not EU Member States and provide the possibility to follow the practices of the Member States.
