Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Stavros Amvrosiou

On 15 September, 2010 a working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Stavros Amvrosiou, was held.Mrs. Markova presented the structure, the functions and the activities of the State Commission on Information Security as National Security Authority to H.E.Mr. Amvrosiou. She stressed that the Commission carries out the state policy in the field of the protection of classified information, as well as that the Commission exercises methodological guidance and control over the security and public order services.

Both parties shared their positive assessment towards a future signing of Agreement between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Cyprus in the field of classified information protection. Mrs. Markova emphasized that a signing of international Agreement in this field will establish the legal framework of the protection of the classified information between the two states, and will contribute to the more active participation of Cyprian companies in public procurements with Bulgaria as contracting authority. H.E.Mr. Amvrosiou shared that the signing of international Agreement in the field of protection of classified information will have a positive economic effect and will contribute for the development of the co-operation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Cyprus.

The meeting was held at the building of the SCIS and was carried out in working atmosphere.
