Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain H.E. Mr. Jorge Fuentes Monzonis - Villonga

On 5 March 2010 in Sofia the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova carried out a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain H.E. Mr. Jorge Fuentes Monzonis - Villonga.

During the meeting the role and functions of the SCIS as a state authority which implements the classified information protection policy of the Republic of Bulgaria and as National security authority in international aspect were presented.  The importance of the signed Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on mutual protection and exchange of classified information was stressed as it gives the framework for cooperation in different spheres of public life that impose exchange of classified information between the two states.

On his behalf ambassador Monzonis-Villonga expressed his gratitude for being introduced in details with the activities and the aims of the State Commission on Information Security. He emphasized that in such sensitive field as classified information protection it is very important to keep the contacts and the practice and that the Commission is an important authority for the national security of the state.

Both parties confirmed their readiness for future cooperation.

The meeting was carried out at the building of the SCIS and was conducted in a working atmosphere.
