Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Aleksandru Prigorski

On 27 Septembr 2010 in Sofia the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Aleksandru Prigorski. 

During the meeting the activities of the State Commission on Information Security as National Security Authority of the Republic of Bulgaria were presented. Mrs. Markova gave to His Excellence Mr. Prigorski the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on mutual protection and exchange of classified information, signed on 14 February 2008.  She stressed on the important role of such type of Agreements as they establish the legal framework for exchange and mutual protection of classified information necessary in the cooperation process in different areas of public life and provide the opportunity for more active economic relations between the states.

Mrs. Markova also confirmed the readiness for co-operation and exchange between the State Commission on Information Security and the National Security Authority of the Republic of Moldova.

On his behalf His Excellence Mr. Prigorski replied that as the Republic of Moldova is a young state with new institutions, the exchange of experience and information between the SCIS and the National Security Authority of the Republic of Moldova is of great benefit and importance. He also pointed out that in the Republic of Moldova the National Security Authority is an independent body as the SCIC, and the Head of the Authority and his Deputy are appointed by the President by a proposal of the Parliament.

Both parties confirmed their readiness for future cooperation.

The meeting was carried out at the building of the SCIS and was conducted in a working atmosphere.
