SCIS presented the Annual Report reviewing the classified information protection in the Republic in Bulgaria for 2007

On 18 March 2008 at 11 o’clock at the Central military club, the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security (SCIS) Mrs. Tsveta Markova presented the Annual report on the overall activities and the status of the protection of the classified information for 2007 before the representatives of the central authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria and the security services and public order services.

The report was prepared with the cooperation of the security services and the public order services, in compliance of art. 7, para 1 of the Classified Information Protection Act (CIPA).
The main purpose of the report is to present the current status of the system for protection of classified information and to analyze and outline the main directions of its development in 2008.

The main accents of the Annual report are: the functioning of the National system for the protection of classified information; the risks and the dangers for the security of the classified information and the mechanisms for counteraction; the activities of the SCIS as National Security Authority, of the security services, the public order services  and the other organizational units on the implementation of CIPA; the international cooperation of the Republic of Bulgaria on the protection of classified information; the amendments in the legislation, related to the protection of classified information; the main activities on the protection of the different types of security; the trends in the development of the National system for the protection of classified information, the performance of the obligations in the field of security of classified information, resulting from the full membership of the Republic of Bulgaria in NATO and EU;the basic prior directions in the activities of the SCIS, the security services, the public order services and the other subjects of the National system for the protection of classified information in 2008.
