The SCIS conducted initial training on the protection of classified information in its Training center in Bankya with security officers

From 13 to 16 June 2011 in its Training center in Bankya the State Commission on Information Security carried out mandatory initial training of security officers of districts, municipalities and of the judicial system of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The training programme included main subjects from the Classified Information Protection Act (CIPA) and the Regulation on its implementation (RICIPA). The lecturers of the SCIS drew the attention of the trainees to to the risks for the interests of the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of the protection of classified information, the types of classified information protection, the direct control check-ups and the administrative-penal responsibility according to the CIPA. Practical courses were carried out with the participants on the personnel and documentary security of classified information.

The training ended with outgoing test for checking the knowledge of the trainees. The general part of them – 73% passed the test with an excellent grade and the rest of them with a good grade.

In the inquiry made the participants expressed the opinion was fully or to a great extent useful for their work. According to a big part of the trainees the objectives of the program were fully achieved. Those of the security officers who had been working longer in the field of the protection of classified information gave extremely high evaluation of the practical implementation of the knowledge on the CIPA and the RICIPA.

On behalf of the SCIS readiness for providing assistance and help in case of questions on issues, related to the implementation of the CIPA and the sublegal regulatory framework in this field, was expressed.
