Working meeting between the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to the Republic of Bulgaria H.E.Mrs. Sheila Camerer
Posted on 11 Mar 2010 17:22:26On 11 March 2010 in Sofia the the Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security Mrs. Tsveta Markova carried out a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa the Republic of Bulgaria H.E.Mrs. Sheila Camerer.
During the meeting Mrs. Markova presented the role and functions of the SCIS as a state authority which implements the classified information protection policy of the Republic of Bulgaria and as National security authority in international aspect.
The possibility for opening negotiations for the signing of Agreement on mutual protection and exchange of classified information between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of South Africa was discussed, as South Africa has a strong developed defence industry, and such type of Agreements because they give the framework for cooperation in different spheres of public life that impose exchange of classified information.
On her behalf Mrs. Camerer expressed her readiness to present officially the proposal for opening negotiations to the South - African side and stressed that for the Republic of South Africa is very important to develop economic relations with EU member states as the only country member of G - 20of the African continent. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be introduced to the activities of the State Commission on Information Security and presented her willingness for future cooperation.
Mrs. Markova also confirmed her readiness for opening of negotiations for the signing of bilateral agreement on the protection and exchange of classified information and expressed her gratitude for the manifested attention.
The meeting was carried out at the building of the SCIS and was conducted in a working atmosphere.
