Seventh meeting of the Heads of the National Security Authorities of South-Eastern European countries, members of Regional Cooperation Council (SEENSA)

In the period 4th October 2017 – 6th October 2017 in Belgrade, Serbia the Seventh meeting of the Heads of the National Security Authorities of South-Eastern European countries, members of Regional Cooperation Council (SEENSA) was held.

The 7th SEENSA meeting was co-organized and co-chaired by the Regional Cooperation Council and the National Security Authority of Serbia.

SEENSA is a specialized regional cooperation format in the field of security for national security authorities and is focused on enhancing the cooperation between the National Security Authorities in South-Eastern Europe.  SEENSA has regular annual meetings since 2011 as the first meeting was held in Sofia with the support of the Regional Cooperation Council.

The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the National Security Authorities of South-Eastern European countries and representatives of the Regional Cooperation Council. On behalf of SCIS experts from the Classified Information Protection Directorate and Legal and International Legal Affairs Directorate participated.

During the meeting the development of the security in the region was discussed, information and best practices of the countries were exchanged.
The focus of SEENSA 2017 meeting was the role of the NSAs in their cyber security strategies, the activities of the working groups in the industrial security policies and the legal frameworks of the critical infrastructure.

The meeting was concluded with an agreement for continuation of regional cooperation.


The next SEENSA meeting will be held in the Republic of Slovenia.
