Participation of representatives of SCIS in the Third meeting of the Heads of the National Security Authorities of South-East European countries, members of the Regional Cooperation Council (SEENSA)
Posted on 05 Jun 2013 17:32:55In the period between 27th May and 29th May 2013 in Durres, Albania the Third meeting of the Heads of the National Security Authorities of South-East European countries, members of the Regional Cooperation Council (SEENSA) was held. This conference is a part of the initiative for cooperation in the field of the functioning of the system for the protection of classified information of South-East European countries which was launched in 2011 by the State Commission on Information Security (SCIS) and the Regional Cooperation Council Secretariat.
The conference in the Republic of Albania was held with the support of NATO Office of Security and the Security Office of the General Secretariat of the EU Council. Heads and representatives of the National Security Authorities of the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, the Republic of Moldova, NATO, Regional Cooperation Council, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Slovenia and Romania participated in the meeting.
The participants shared national views regarding the development of the cooperation in the field of the protection of classified information between the National Security Authorities from South-Eastern Europe. Current issues regarding to the activities of the thematic working groups “International Security Agreements”, “Training”, “Industrial security” and “Cyber Defence” were discussed. These thematic working groups were established with the consent of the participants in the Second meeting of the Heads of SEENSA held in the period between 7th and 9th May 2012 in Brdo, the Republic of Slovenia. SCIS participates as supporting NSA in all of the four thematic working groups. During the conference in Durres was discussed what the groups had achieved as well as future initiatives in their activities.
The Third SEENSA meeting was estimated by the participants as one of the important tools for developing all kinds of regional cooperation initiatives in the field of security.
The Fourth Meeting of the Heads of SEENSA will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina in May 2014.
