Working meeting for discussing the legal term ‘official secret’

On 10 June 2011 at 9.00 in the State Commission on Information Security (SCIS) located on 90 Cherkovna Str. a working meeting on discussing the legal term ‘official secret’ was held.  During the meeting attended representatives of SCIS, Access to Information Programme Foundation and the State agency for National Security.

This is a consecutive working meeting in the frames of the initiative of the SCIS started in 2010 jointly with the Access to Information Programme Foundation on collecting information from the organizational entities, handling classified information, concerning the ‘official secret’ lists in accordance with Art. 26 of the Classified Information Protection Act. The participants in the meeting agreed on the idea for achieving clear distinction between the terms ‘official secret’ as per the CIPA, official public information, professional secret, commercial secret and personal data. The Chairperson of the SCIS Mrs. Tsveta Markova proposed in September 2011 the SCIS, together with Access to Information Programme Foundation and the State Agency for National Security to carry out thematically training on the issues of the official secret on the security officers of the central administration and the municipalities.
