Signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland on exchange and mutual protection of classified information
Posted on 11 Sep 2012 16:59:00On 11 September 2012 in Boyana Residence an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was signed.
On Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Mrs. Tsveta Markova – Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security and on the side of the United Kingdom it was signed by H.E. Mr. Jonathan Allen, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Agreement is a result of negotiations and consultations on an expert level between the Parties and perfections the legal framework for cooperation in the field of exchange and mutual protection of classified information.
The current agreement will contribute to the development of the bilateral relations in all fields of social life.
In the agreement are defined the main concepts in the field of protection of classified information, the respective levels of the security classification levels of the information, the competent security authorities of the Parties, the security classification measures and the rules for the actions in case of breach of security, the ways for exchange and use of classified information. Provisions are included regulating classified contracts and procedures for international visits.
