Signing of Agreement on amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning the protection of classified information

On 28th October 2014 in the premises of the State Commission on Information Security Agreement on amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning the protection of classified information was signed.

On Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Mr. Boris Dimitrov – Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security and on behalf of the United Kingdom – by H.E. Mr. Jonathan Allen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Bulgaria. 

The Agreement is a result of a review of the classification policy of Great Britain and is a consequence of the need for review of the respective security classification levels. The negotiation process was extremely intensified, without consultations, trough the exchange of written correspondence

The present Agreement will further contribute for the development of the bilateral relations in all public areas.
