Signing of Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on exchange and mutual protection of classified information
Posted on 10 May 2012 09:09:00On 9 May 2012 in Brdo, Republic of Slovenia an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on exchange and mutual protection of classified information was signed.
On Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Mrs. Tsveta Markova – Chairperson of the State Commission on Information Security (SCIS) and on the Slovenian side – by Mr. Gregor Majcen – Director of the National security authority.
The Agreement is a result of two rounds of negotiations between the countries and is a good basis for establishing of legal framework for cooperation in the field of exchange and mutual protection in all fields of public life.
The current Agreement will contribute for the development of bilateral economic relations by providing possibility for participation of Slovenian companies in public procurements held by Bulgarian ministries and departments as well as for Bulgarian companies in Slovenia.
In the Agreement are defined the main concepts in the field of the protection of classified information, are indicated the respective security classification levels, the competent security authorities of the Parties, the measures for the protection of classified information and the rules for acting in case of breach of security, the ways of exchange and use of classified information. Provisions are included which regulate classified contracts and procedures for international visits.
